About Dr. Zaha

Dr. Zaha is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist dedicated to providing therapeutic services that emphasize compassion, integrity, collaboration, equity, and respect. As a psychologist, she aims to support clients in navigating life’s emotional and psychological challenges, build skills for resilience, live deeply and purposefully, and solve their own problems.

Within the 20 years of her clinical experience, she has obtained expert training in evidence-based practices, as well as mindfulness and values-driven therapy. She specializes in treating complex emotional and psychological challenges across diverse populations.

Since 2020, Dr. Zaha has served as a Qualified Medical Evaluator, a neutral evaluator for adult injured workers claiming psychological injuries through California’s Division of Worker’s Compensation.

Dr. Zaha’s clinical and professional expertise includes:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Certified DBT Clinician by the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification with advanced training and expertise in Comprehensive DBT across individual, family, and group therapies.

  • Trauma-Informed Care: Skilled in addressing PTSD and complex trauma through evidence-based modalities, such as DBT-Prolonged Exposure.

  • Adolescents and Families: Extensive experience in working with teens (12+) and families navigating emotion dysregulation, conflict, and mental health challenges.

  • Individual Therapy: Tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals such as on on emotional regulation, interpersonal challenges, life transitions, and coping through crises. Dr. Zaha is proficient in helping adults of all ages.

  • Couples Therapy: Supporting couples in improving communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening relationships through fostering emotional connection, trust, and understanding between partners while addressing challenges such as relational stress, life transitions, and unresolved conflicts.

  • LGBTQI+: Providing gender-affirming, inclusive, and competent care to LGBTQI+ individuals and their families, such as identity exploration, dysphoria, gender transitions, and discrimination.

  • Multicultural focus: Fostering equity, emphasizing and enhancing cultural values, traditions, and perspectives, and honoring individuality and lived experiences.

  • Mindfulness and Mindful Self Compassion: Practice and guidance on increasing present-moment awareness, as well as connection and kindness to self and others. Application of the Mindful Self Compassion module by Kristin Neff and Chris Germer.

  • Supervision and Training: Dedicated mentor and clinical supervisor, with a focus on DBT adherence and professional development for non-licensed clinicians and certification candidates.

  • Qualified Medical Evaluations: Expertise in providing detailed medical-legal opinions for workplace-related psychological injuries.
